Meditation & Stress Management Seminar

Time: 7.00pm – 8.00pm

History is littered with expressions from writers, prophets and historians describing man’s search for a peaceful mind. Even back to biblical times and beyond people have been plagued with the endless “mind chatter” that leads us to daily
frustration, increased stress levels and confused relationships. The ceaseless chatter of the mind works to feed negative thoughts and emotions that leads to a spiralling effect that never finds the light of peace and happiness.
Unfortunately this is normal for almost all people and has been the case since man was an upright being. Evolution has given us a brain that has a level of intelligence unparalleled by any other species. This intelligence, however, comes with some baggage. The very same intelligence that is the brain power that enables mankind to understand the most complex relationships of the smallest particles of matter and that has enabled us to explore the genetics that dictate what all living things will be like is also the mental horsepower that drives the thoughts that continually focus on the future and past, and not the present.
Meditation is the pathway to ending the ceaseless chatter and finding peace and stillness of thought, in the present moment.
This is an information seminar that helps participants to understand how we find the “presence” the Martial Art way. People who do not train in the Martial Arts can, however, understand and practice this.
Participants are encourage to enrol in the “Hap Ki Gong” seminar as a practical follow up to the unique perspective on meditation.
Hap Ki Gong Seminar
When: Saturday 23 March 2013
Time: 11.00am – 1.00pm
Cost: $50 per person
The traditional Korean Martial Arts embrace the oriental philosophy of the “Chi” breathing and movement exercises as seen in the historic Chinese “Tai Chi”. The development of the Hapkido Martial Art in Korea has not been immune to such powerful influence and so the modern “Hap Ki Gong” was born.
The breathing exercises are from the “Tanjon” centre and utilise the fullest breath that the lungs can create whilst maintaining a “thoughtless” presence. Meditative by nature, the Hap Ki Gong breathing exercises help the practitioner to leave aside the endless chatter of the mind and find the stillness and peach in the present moment.
Whilst this practice takes time to perfect, and some Hapkido masters would argue a lifetime, the journey of the development of Hap Ki Gong breathing provides a rather steep success curve. This is due to the impact that the conscious breathing from the Tanjon centre has to bring the practicing student quickly and closer towards a more relaxed and meditative state.
This seminar is a must for people seeking a complete de-stressing and “mind present” experience for daily and life long relaxation. A practical experience where participants train and practice the “Hap Ki Gong” movements. It is highly recommended that participants have participated in the “Martial Arts Meditation” seminar.
