A Factor10 Team of Poomse and Sparring athletes will be contesting gold at the New Zealand Open from 17 – 18 March 2012.
The team consists of coaches, assistant coaches, team manager, athletes and parents. This is a great development opportunity for nominated members from the Factor10 Talent Identification Program.
The TID team members train on Tuesdays and Fridays in their respective disciplines of Poomse and Sparring.
“This tournament is a truly international experience for these young athletes”, commented head of team and team coach Master Damien O’Flaherty, “and I know they will gain significant development from the venture”.
Whilst New Zealand has not historically ranked high on international open events, they have qualified more athletes for the London Olympic games than Australia and the United States, a great achievement for the New Zealand Olympic program.
Stay tuned on Facebook and Twitter to hear how the team is getting on.
